Why Do We Walk In Scarcity?

Why do we walk and live like we are not the richest people on the planet? Our Father owns it all and we are His children!

So what’s the missing link? Is it that we don’t believe in Whose we are? Is it that we don’t believe that there are cattle on a thousand hills for us to claim? Psalm 50:10-12, “For every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine…..for the world is mine, and all that is in it.”

What prompted this thought in me is that I realized I was on my last few dollars with a lot of month left over. And I began to wonder how I was going to make it through. But, I very quickly reminded myself that my Father owns it all and I am His child and He will provide. He always does!

I don’t have to worry or try to manipulate anything cause He is my provider and He will make certain that I have whatever I need exactly when I need it. He’s never failed me. He is always on time.

So, why do we walk in scarcity? I declare that we don’t give the One above enough credit. The credit He’s do to put our total trust in God for our every daily needs. He’s our Jehovah Jireh and we are His chosen ones. We are “a royal priesthood”, 1 Peter 2:9, But you are a chosen people, A royal priesthood, A holy nation, A people for God’s own possession……”

The Bible says, God knows what we need before we ask Him, (Matthew 6:8, “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.”) His word also says that we are the lenders and not the borrowers. Deuteronomy 15:6, “For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.” God has everything we need to make it through! And not just make it through, but we are to thrive and walk in a life of abundance. Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

Ask yourself these questions, “Why do I live like I won’t make it through?” “Why do I get down when my cash is low?” Search your heart and determine your answers. Become aware of your way of thinking about who He is and Whose you are. He is your life of abundance. Do you have the faith to believe that?! Are you too afraid to put your total trust in Him to provide for you daily?!

I challenge you to ask yourself these kind of questions and be determined to understand why you walk in scarcity and not in abundance. Then do something about your way of thinking. You truly are the head and not the tail. Walk in His abundance! His life of more! Ask Him for what you need and watch Him work. He already knows what you have need of before you ask Him.
